Teens Cope with Grief through Street Art Workshop
/Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida-based street artist Dean visited Valerie’s House in Fort Myers in January to teach teaching a few of our teens who have lost a loved one the history, evolution, and techniques behind (legal) graffiti. These walls will remain on display at our Fort Myers house and continuously be added onto by other kids. They will take on lives of their own, just like real street art!
Art is one of several activities we encourage at Valerie’s House to help the kids express themselves and their emotions. At Valerie's House, children know others their age, and they learn that loss doesn't have to limit their dreams.
